In challenging economic times it is always exciting to be able to announce some new funding and Colebrook is in the fortunate position to be able to do so!
We have recently been told that we have been successfully awarded two new pots of money. The first will be to run a year long peer support project for people who are experiencing mental health issues and long term health conditions. Side by Side is a national project from the Lottery and National MIND to create and evaluate peer support activity across the country. Colebrook is one of 45 lucky projects across the country to be funded and we now have the resources to train and support 10 local people to become peer supporters to others on the same journey.
Our second success is 5 year development funding for our city wide Time bank from the Reaching Communities Lottery fund! Building on the success of Opportunity Knocks Time bank, development funding will enable us to expand the support groups and create a more health focused model working more closely with primary care services and greater numbers.
This new funding has come at a time when energy is high and everyone is focused on the future. It means development opportunities for some of our staff as well to deliver the projects.
